Welcome to another article in our 'Useful Lists' series - this week on the discussion group we asked what you thought are some of 'Brisbane's Most Family Friendly Restaurants and Cafes'?

Our lists are continually updated and cover the best places for kids and parents across Brisbane, however we are aware that this list doesn't include all the great services on offer, but it's a great place to start! Remember to always do your own research and make sure the service meets your personal needs.

Redland Bay Hotel, Redland Bay

What's there: An awesome outdoor, fully fenced playground surrounded by seating areas.
Kids Menu: Kids club menu with a variety of options priced at $9. Add drink and a desert for an extra $3 and all kids meals come with a kids club activity pack.
Address: 160 Broadwater Terrace, Redland Bay 4165.

Redland Bay Hotel

"Our go to in the Redlands when dining out with the kids! The menu has lots of choice at great prices, and our son can play whilst he waits for his meal instead of being glued to an ipad!" - BMG Member

The Red Lion, Moorooka
What's there: Some of the best pub food in Brisbane as well as a newly built indoor play area for the kids.
Kids Menu: All the kids favourites - fish & chips, pizza, spag bol and nuggets, priced at $10.50 and includes a free soft drink and ice cream.

The Red Lion Hotel, Moorooka

"The red lion at Moorooka has great food and a great big indoor play area."- BMG Member

"The red lion hotel at moorooka just built a little kids zone and great prices on meals. Kids eat free on certain night's etc." - BMG Member

Izba Espresso, Newport
What's there? Large outdoor play area with climbing frame, slides and wobbly bridge- all built on sand and within close view of the eating area. Cafe is open for brekky and lunch 7 days a week.
Kids Menu: This place has a great kids menu and prices start from just $5.

Izba Cafe

"Izba Cafe in Newport is awesome! Great service, great food and drinks, shade, shaded playground and beautiful view." - BMG Member

Everton Park Hotel, Everton Park
What's there? Awesome indoor play area fully equipped with arcade games, games consoles and even a couple of small rides, as well as an outdoor playground.
Kids Menu: Various options priced at $9.95 which also includes a drink and ice cream.

Everton Park Hotel

"Huge fenced play space with CCTV cameras (for lunch and dinner)." - BMG Member

Birds and Bees Cafe, Everton Hills
What's there: Perfect for brekky and lunch, little ones can enjoy the fully fenced play area, chalk boards, toys and miniature tables and chairs.
Kids Menu: Prices start from $6 and options include meals such as 'Ham and Cheese Toastie' and the 'Mini Brekky Roll.'

Birds and Bees Cafe

"Cafe with play space and super lovely staff as well as awesome food. (For breakfast)" - BMG Member

The Monkey Bar Cafe, Greenslopes
What's there: The outdoor seating overlooks a small playground with climbing frames, slides and modern seesaw, plus a large grassy area perfect for ball games.
Kids Menu: An awesome 'Mini Monkeys Menu' serving up a range of delicious meals, kids are sure to find something they'll enjoy and with prices starting at just $5, it won't break the bank.

Home Store Cafe, Ashgrove
What's there: This quirky little cafe is adjoined to a homewares store and is popular for serving up delicious brekky's and lunch. There is also a small play room to entertain the kids whilst mum can enjoy a coffee.
Kids Menu: The kids menu is slightly restricted with only 3 breakfast options available, however lunch looks a little more promising with 2 hot food options and a range of different sandwiches. Kids menu prices start from $6.90.

Yeronga RSL, Yeronga
What's there: Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week, the Yeronga RSL offers family friendly dining with an on site, indoor play area, perfect for keeping kids busy under the watchful eye of parents.
Kids Menu:'Little members' can chow down on goodies such as sausage and chips, pasta bolognaise and steak and chips- all for just $7, which also includes a small drink.

Yeronga RSL

"Yeronga RSL has an indoor playground easy for watching kids play and great nightly specials. Its our regular with a 3 and 1 yr old." - BMG Member

Chapter IV, Paddington
What's there: Serving up delicious brekky and brunch, reviews have said that Chapter IV is the most child friendly cafe in this area. Plenty of room for prams and a designated children's playroom, complete with a selection of toys.
Kids Menu: With options for both breakfast and lunch, the children's menu (although limited), sounds delicious and with prices starting from $7, is easy on the purse strings!

Chapter IV

"Chapter IV on Latrobe Tce, Paddington is a lovely cafe with a children's corner. They have plenty of high chairs and a good space so you can take your pram." - BMG Member

Beans on the Green, Bardon
What's there: An assortment of large toys to keep little ones busy whilst parents get their caffeine fix, including games, activity tables and a children's play kitchen. Check out a full review here.
Kids Menu: There is no specific children's menu and the food on offer is limited to toasted sandwiches, pastries and snacks from the fridge so you may need to bring little ones a packed lunch.

Beans on the Green

"Beans on the Greens in Bardon. This is an outside cafe however they have mats to sit on, plenty of toys for children to play with and lots of shaded areas." - BMG Member

Rose and Edward, Windsor
What's there: An awesome brekky and brunch menu plus a children's play corner fully equipped with books, games and toys.
Kids Menu: There are four options on the kid's menu to choose from, french toast, toasties, fruit and yoghurt and a bowl of 'chippies', prices start from $5.

Rose and Edward

Mango Hill Tavern
What's there: Open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the Mango Hill Tavern has a huge menu and a brilliant indoor and outdoor play area, which are fully fenced for peace of mind.
Kids Menu: The kids menu here is awesome and jam packed with a variety of meals such as spaghetti bolognaise, grilled chicken salad, pizza and even child sized steak and chips! Each kids meal will set you back $9.90 and this includes a drink and an ice cream or Zooper Duper!

Mango Hill Tavern


Bellbowrie Tavern, Bellbowrie
What's there: The Bellbowrie Tavern prides itself on its family friendly atmosphere and have created an indoor play space, which includes a brightly coloured, tunnel playground to keep little ones entertained.
Kids Menu: All kids meals are $9 (which includes a drink) and there are so many dishes to choose from that even the fussiest of eaters will be happy!

Bellbowrie Tavern


The Gap Tavern, The Gap
What's there: Kids can enjoy an outdoor playground, arcade games and movies, as well as face painting every Friday and Saturday night!
Kids Menu: 'Pepe's Club 4 Kids' menu is $9 and includes a meal, side and drink and there's plenty to choose from!

The Gap Tavern

"Love the Gap Tavern for our weekend drinks, they have an indoor gaming area and usually play a movie on weekends. Have a lovely outdoor play area, you can have drinks and watch the kids. Also have face painting over weekends - so it works great for us." - BMG Member

Carina Leagues Club, Carina
What's there: Home to the Kids Safari Club, Carina Leagues Club is the perfect place to dine out with the family. As well as being able to play on the outdoor playground, as part of the club, kids will also enjoy a range of activities including painting, dress up, playing on the Xbox and loads more.
Kids Menu: With a great selection to choose from, kids meals are a bargain at $8.50!

Carina Leagues Club


Victoria Park Golf Club
What's there: Victoria Park Golf Club is not only home to an awesome putt putt course that the kids will love, but also a huge outdoor playground! The playground consists of a large wooden climbing frame, climbing nets, a slide, rock climbing wall and various imaginative play areas.
Kids Menu: The kids meals sound just as delicious as the adult mains and with 3 different pizzas, fish, chicken and burgers, there's sure to be something everyone will love. Prices start from $12.

Victoria Park Golf Club


The Tingalpa Hotel, Tingalpa
What's there: The Tingalpa Hotel caters for the whole family with their outdoor playground and indoor kids area, perfect for keeping children occupied.
Kids Menu: The menu covers all the usual 'pub grub' options that kids love and all come at a cost of $9.90, the best bit is that this also includes a kids activity pack, which is stocked with an activity book, colouring pencils, stickers and a small toy.

Tingalpa Hotel


The Grand View Hotel, Cleveland
What's there: Not only does the Grand View Hotel offer up lots of tasty grub, there's also a small children's playground in the outdoor eating area. Based on sand, kids can enjoy the climbing frame and slide all within the watchful eye of mum and dad. There's also a table tennis table to occupy older kids.
Kids Menu: Kids meals are slightly higher in price at $12, which doesn't include any extras, however the portions are great and the food is delicious.
