Trying to find healthier recipes for kid friendly treats and still keeping great taste can be difficult, but these easy peanut butter/honey rice crispy bars are sure to be a hit for sweet treat loving kids (Or husbands!)
You will need:
Rice bubbles or similar cereal
Natural Peanut butter
STEP 1: Add 1/2 cup of peanut butter and 1/4 cup of honey and 2 tbsp of coconut oil to a microwave safe bowl and microwave until melted.
Mix until all fully combined.
STEP 2: Add in 1 tsp of vanilla essence, mix well and than add two cups of rice crispy cereal.
Mix until all of the cereal is well coated. More oil or honey/peanut butter can be added if the cereal is not fully covered in liquid mixture.
STEP 3: Add mixture into a container, size will depend on the thickness of bar you desire. Refrigerate for a couple of hours or until set and firm enough to cut.
Recipe can be adjusted to suit, more honey for more sweetness or more peanut butter for a saltier flavour.
Cocoa powder can be added to create chocolate flavoured bars also.
