Calling all young witches and wizards! Why not ditch your muggle activities this weekend, get your wands at the ready and compete in the Tri-Wizard Tournament? Or better yet, grab your book and cauldron and join in on a Potions class?
The Luminarium Festival and Core Creative Education produce fun and illuminating workshops and events for children aged 5-13 and their families. Mixing magic and imagination with a range of different topics, these Harry Potter inspired workshops hope to encourage the younger generation to become everything and anything they want to be.
WHAT? The Luminarium Festival is a series of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) workshops which are run in Brisbane, Caboolture and Toowoomba during the school holidays and throughout the school year. Inspired by the wonderful world of Harry Potter, the Brisbane based workshops are held at the BrisWest Centre in Paddington and this weekend will be themed around the hugely popular "Tri Wizard Tournament" and the new and exciting "Walking with Beasts: A Fantastic Expedition".
During the workshops, children aged between 5-13 will be invited to work in small groups to complete a series of challenges in the Hogwarts disciplines of Potions, Care of Magical Creatures, Defence Against the Dark Arts and many more, all whilst building upon key skills and subjects such as science, mathematics, engineering, creative writing and performance. A dream come true for any Harry Potter fan or even just any child wanting to explore and enjoy these subjects in a fun and imaginative environment.
