Upcoming Live Events for Brisbane Families

There's nothing better than watching your little ones face light up when they see some of their favourite characters come to life on stage and there are heaps of live events coming up in Brisbane over the next few months for you to choose from.

We've included details of where the shows will be taking place, average ticket prices and show dates for your information. Make sure to click on show names for further details and bookings.


1. Disney on Ice Presents Frozen
Everyones favourite snowy adventure is coming to Brisbane! Featuring all of your favourite Frozen characters and songs, head into the magical world of Arendelle and join Anna and Elsa as they journey to discover that true love is the greatest power of all. Definitely a show not to be missed!

Where? Brisbane Entertainment Centre
When? Thursday 29th June - Sunday 2nd July
How Much? Prices start from $35 and go on sale to the general public from Wednesday 22nd Feb, 9am



2. Adventure Time Live!
Animated show, Adventure Time has become insanely popular over the last few years and now it's coming to the live stage! Brisbane based fans will be transported to the Land of Ooo for a fully interactive, live, audio visual experience with some of your favourite characters from the hit show.

When? Sunday 12th March
How much? Tickets start from $54 and you will be given the option to pay extra in order to 'meet and greet' some of the shows most loved characters.



3. The 13-Storey Treehouse
Adapted from the best selling book by Andy Griffiths' and Terry Denton, the one and only, super-famous, ultra-brilliant The 13‑Storey Treehouse has been turned into a show for the theatre. Kids will be crying with laughter from start to finish and will be amazed by the magical theatre effects and awesome costumes and props.

Where? Playhouse, Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), Brisbane
When? Wednesday 5th April - Sunday 9th April
How much? Cost of admission $29, recommended for kids aged 6 and up.



4. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Everybody's favourite Roald Dahl novel comes to life in Brisbane this year. Join Charlie Bucket as he journeys around Willy Wonka's magical chocolate factory and befriends Mr Wonka himself. A beautiful tale with hugely memorable characters and lots and lots of chocolatey goodness!

Where? Brisbane Arts Theatre
When? Saturday 1st April - Saturday 10th June
How much? Ticket price is $18 however discounts are available for group bookings of 10 or more.



5. Dinosaur Train Live!
Buddy, Don and the rest of the Dinosaur Train gang are coming to Brisbane! In a show jam packed with singing, dancing and all of your favourite characters, tickets are a must for any fans of the hit TV show. Head out on a "Rainforest Adventure" and discover tropical plants, animals and learn all about the eco system.

Where? Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre
When? Tuesday 27th June - Wednesday 28th June
How Much? Tickets start from $40



6. Mr Stink
Derived from the popular children's book by David Walliams, Mr Stink is the tale of Chloe, a girl who is severely lacking in the friend department. However, in a strange twist of fate, Chloe befriends the local tramp, Mr Stink and allows him to live in her garden shed. Will she be able to keep Mr Stink a secret? A hilarious, heart warming and sometimes smelly story comes to life!

When? Saturday 24th June - Sunday 2nd July
How Much? Ticket price is $29.50 however there are discounts available for group bookings of 6 or more. Suitable for children aged 6 years and up.



7. Horrible Harriet
Horrible Harriet is desperate for a friend but doesn't really see eye to eye with the other kids in her class so with the arrival of newbie 'Athol Egghead' Harriet finally meets someone who understands her. Journey along with Harriet in a show filled with songs, laughter and mischievous fun in this awesome story adapted from the popular children's novel by Leigh Hobbs.

Where? QUT Gardens Theatre, Brisbane
When? Tuesday 29th August - Sunday 3rd September
How much? Ticket cost is $27 however discounts are available for bookings of 6 or more people.



8. The Sleeping Beauty
A performance suitable for both adults and children, The Australian Ballet is proud to present The Sleeping Beauty. Lose yourself in the magical tale of Princess Aurora and Carabosse the angry fairy in this enchanting fairytale ballet which features beautiful compositions by Tchaikovsky as well as stunning costumes and sets by Gabriela Tylesova.

Where? Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) Brisbane
When? Friday 24th February - Saturday 4th March
How much? Ticket prices start from $39 and discounts are available for children, concession card holders as well as group or school bookings



9. Playschool Live in Concert - Prince of Bears 2017
Popular children's show Playschool is coming soon to a location near you with a brand new tale set to engage, educate and entertain youngsters all over the country. Big Ted has become King and although he now has the Royal crown he needs to find a Royal castle to match. With lots of your favourite characters and a world filled with nursery rhymes, songs and stories, Playschool Live in Concert is a must see for younger audiences.
