Hi Mums, I recently put my 13 month baby boy to a family care. He loves it except he doesn't sleep at all. He is a good sleeper at home... Has a morning nap and an afternoon nap without which he will be exhausted to the max, and won't function at all. It shows in his eyes and all too. No matter how exhausted he is, he won't sleep at family care with the carer. He has never been with anyone other than me.. Even when we went to my home country at 10 months, he will not sleep with anyone other than me. Once he is asleep, he sleeps alone in his own bedroom.
Given that he is unable to sleep, both times I had to go and put him to sleep at family care. I feel soooo sorry for him when I see his exhausted state. I know it takes time to adopt and all to family care, but soon I'll have to start work too. I really want him to be as comfortable as possible and most importantly get adequate sleep. Some babies may not nap that much, but according to our pead, every baby is different and if they need sleep they need it.
Anyone experienced this at daycare or family care? What did they do and you do, to overcome the problem in a healthy manner.
