These activities will not stretch the family budget

Some trips out with the family can be quite expensive, however Brisbane has many brilliant activities on offer that won't break the bank.

Here are 5 of my favourite cheap, cheerful and child-friendly places to visit.

1. [Link http://indigiscapes.redland.qld.gov.au/IndigiCentre/Pages/default.aspx Redlands IndigiScapes Centre, Capalaba]

This hidden gem provides lots to see and do for every member of the family.

With numerous walking tracks, beautiful butterfly gardens and a play area for the kids, IndigiScapes Capalaba is a bargain afternoon out for any Brisbane family.

Grab a hot coffee and a bite to eat from the Tea Garden Cafe, get lost in the native plant maze, and most off all enjoy the stunning scenery around you.

Visit Redlands Indigiscapes for further information.
Entry Cost - Free

2. [Link https://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/facilities-recreation/parks-venues/parks/brisbane-botanic-gardens-mount-coot-tha Botanical Gardens, Mt Coot-tha]

Home to the Hide 'n' Seek Children's trail, the Brisbane Botanic Gardens are recognised as Queensland's premier subtropical gardens.

Kids will love to follow their very own adventure map and exploring the surprises the trail has to offer, while parents can simply stroll along and take in the breathtaking views around them.

With a living museum, restaurant onsite and numerous attractions to walk around, the Botanical Gardens will keep your brood busy all afternoon.

Visit Brisbane Botanical Gardens for further information.

3. [Link https://www.ehp.qld.gov.au/wildlife/daisyhill-centre/ Daisy Hill Koala Centre, Daisy Hill Regional Park]

Grab a picnic and head on down to Daisy Hill Koala Centre. With both indoor and outdoor enclosures, this small but unique facility is the perfect way to teach small ones about our furry little friends.

The indoor education section is jam packed with enough facts, videos and activities to keep even the youngest minds engaged.

With real, live koala's at every turn, this wonderful centre will have your kids bursting with excitement in no time.

Visit Daisy Hill Koala Centre for further information.

Located on the Brisbane River, Southbank is the perfect place to relax and hang out with the kids.

As well as parks, swimming pools and various weekend markets and events, Southbank is also home to "Little Days Out".

"Little Days Out" is a range of exciting kids activities held on a Thursday that change each week and more importantly are completely free of charge.

From dance classes to "Grow your own vegetable" workshops, kids are sure to have a blast no matter what is on offer.

Visit Southbank Parklands for further information.
