Re-live and experience the battles of knights, the bravery of tournaments and the diversity of life in the Middle Ages at the 2024 Abbey Medieval Festival from 6 to 7 July 2024.
What is the Medieval Period?
The Medieval period describes Europe between the fall of Rome in 476 CE and the beginning of the Renaissance in the 14th century. It is marked by a turbulent period of war, social, political and cultural change. It is well known for a range of exquisite dress styles and sporting traditions including the Medieval Tournament which was a forum for European knights to practise and display their military skills in events such as jousting or the mêlée, indulge in pageantry, show their chivalrous qualities and win both wealth, praise glory.
Now you can experience just a taste of this time over 2 days of Medieval celebration as the festival re-enacts the classic features of this unparalleled age.
