Relive the days of yore and experience the sights, sounds, tastes, and aromas of the Middle Ages as you step back in time at the Abbey Medieval Festival.

For 2 massive, fun-filled days, you'll be immersed in the colour and life of Medieval times with displays of combat, jousting, falconry, dancing, music, drama, and medieval arts and crafts.

Cheer on as Knights charge down the lust for glory in the Moreton Bay Medieval Joust Championships, then watch the battle of the castle siege, the firing of the cannon and trebuchet.

Wander around the streets of Abbeystowe to discover what life was like in the Middle Ages, stroll through the vibrant marketplace, and feast upon a variety of flavours spanning many cultures and traditions.

Take in the roving minstrels, jesters, jugglers, and street performers and watch the animal demonstrations including the must-see Birds of Prey.

You can also engage with the medieval re-enactors who will be there demonstrating all aspects of daily life in the Middle Ages, including preparing meals (medieval style), playing board games, practicing fighting skills and crafts including spinning, illumination, embroidery, finger looping, lucet weaving, and nalbinding.

Another star attraction at the festival is the Turkish Oil Wrestling, which is carried out with traditional rituals and customs of the Ottoman Empire, with wrestlers wearing kispet (tight leather trousers) imported from Turkey.
