Fully fenced and the cutest place for imagination games
I took my three year old and six month old baby to the new Ascot Park during the week. Pulling up, my first thought was, "Is this the most adorable park in Brisbane? It has to be!".
This fully fenced playground is perfect for babies and toddler aged children. There are the cutest little houses that have been set up as a market, cafe and fire engine, that connect via tunnels. They really went all out by building them in bright colours and full of fun imagination play things like a cash register, food, table and chairs for the cafe with order window, dog hose, mini fire hydrant and slides.
Next to the houses are swings including a baby swing and one of those really cool double swings so that two people can swing together. There is also a spinning merry go round, big climbing net and a water play area. The water play area is small but really fun for little ones. There is a big tap they can pull to make water and a little creek with stepping stones to run on.
My three year old had a wonderful time playing shops and driving the fire truck. And my baby had some great spinning flowers and brightly coloured balls to play with that were ground height.
Ascot Park is fully fenced with a soft foam bottom, picnic tables, bbqs, shady trees, grass and shade sails. It does still get quite sunny and hot though so be prepared with a hat and lots of sunscreen.
Next to the playground is a basketball half-court, dog off-leash area, outdoor fitness equipment, the very pretty rotunda and toilet facilities. Parking is a bit limited though as there is only street parking. I went there during the week which was fine, but I imagine can get quite busy on the weekends.
Ascot Park is nearby to Racecourse Road which is also a great place to go out for a drink or food with lots of great cafes and restaurants.
I would definitely recommend this playground as a lovely park in Brisbane.
