ASPAFTV: Easter School Holiday Workshops

Wednesday 4th of April to Friday 13th of April
by Jemma Fletcher (follow)
Two fantastic performance programs running these April holidays!

The Australian School of Performing Arts, Film and Television is a professional, industry-focused acting school for young people. They offer high quality actor training to children who are keen to perform on stage and screen.

This Easter, they have 2 school holiday programs available!

1. Drama Attack!

Children 7-12 years can join in from Wednesday 4th to Friday 6th April 2018 for 3 days of action-packed fun at Drama Attack!

Held in Corinda, it's a school holiday program with a difference. On this course, kids will work on their acting skills, develop self-confidence and perform for family and friends on the last day.

Participants will also learn through group work ('ensemble' skills), as well as how to perform as an individual. The program includes drama games and warm-ups, improvisation activities, script work and voice work.

All children have a speaking role in the short play they perform at the end of the program. No experience is necessary.

When: Wednesday 4th - Friday 6th April 2018, 9am - 3pm

Where: Corinda State High School, 46 Pratten St, Corinda QLD 4075

Price: $330 for the three days (Sibling discounts available - subtract $50 from full cost for each additional child). REGISTER HERE.

2. Creative Shorts

Children age 8-17 years can join in from Monday 9th to Friday 13th April 2018 for a week-long acting and filmmaking program Creative Shorts.

On this program, youths have the opportunity to work on their acting skills and make short films at the same time!

Whether they want to write their own monologue, perform a scene from their favourite movie, be in a mock TV commercial, or come up with their own idea, participants can create their own Oscar-worthy performance, which will be captured on film - all under the guidance of filmmaker and cinematographer, Dale Norton.

Footage will be edited on-the-go and Dale will work around the clock to ensure scenes will be ready on DVD on the last day.

When: 10am 5pm Monday 9 th April to Friday 13 th April 2018

Where: Corinda State High School, Cnr Pratten and Lynn Grove Ave, Corinda

Price: $490.00 for the five days (sibling discounts available subtract $50 from full cost for each additional child). REGISTER HERE
