Best Places To Cure A Chocolate Craving

by Sally Foster (follow)
Sink your teeth into these sweet options...

I love chocolate. It is a slight obsession of mine and one I try not to indulge too much so it remains a special treat. So when I do decide to cure those cravings, I want it to be truly excellent.

Here are some of the best places in Brisbane to go to for amazing chocolate. International Chocolate Day is on 7 July so what better excuse than that to sink your teeth into the sweet stuff?

The Brisbane Crochet Club meets weekly to learn crochet, meet other Brisbane mums, and have a good chat. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to come along!

1. Chocolate Walking Tour

How does a morning spent hitting the best chocolate spots in Brisbane sound? Sounds like the best morning of my life. Meeting at the epicentre of Brisbane, the Queen Street Mall, this three-hour tour with Food will take you to some of the best chocolate places in the city.

It is not just eating the chocolate that is the highlight of the tour. It is learning about the history, how chocolate is produced and the different types of chocolate available. You will taste your way through the complex flavours and unique types of chocolate on offer.

When: 10am on Saturdays
Where: Starts at Queen Street Mall
Price: $59 pp
More Information: Visit their website here.

2. Lindt Chocolate Outlet Store

When it comes to chocolate, it is my personal opinion that nobody does it better than Lindt. Their salted caramel dark chocolate is to die for. There is an entire store dedicated to Lindt chocolate in the DFO in Brisbane, full of special prices and flavours you cannot buy at the supermarket.

Sadly, Brisbane does not have one of the Lindt cafes that are in other cities. So my idea would be to go to Lindt, buy up some hot chocolate and a selection of blocks, and check out these recipes. Make your own cafe in the comfort of your own home.

Where: DFO Brisbane
More Information: Visit their website here.

3. Noosa Chocolate Factory

If buying local is more your thing, Noosa Chocolate Factory will be right up your alley. All chocolate is made fresh in Queensland and sold at the shops within 72 hours.

With an amazing selection of chocolate covered fruit and nuts, there are also options for vegans with chocolate made with absolutely no animal products and all products are 100% palm oil free.

Where: 144 and 156 Adelaide Street, Brisbane
More Information: Visit their website here.

4. Chocolate High Tea Buffet

Stamford Plaza hosts some beautiful high teas, the perfect setting for a hens party, baby shower, mothers day or even just an excuse to have a spot of tea and a scone.

But did you know they also hosted a Chocolate High Tea Buffet? An entire buffet featuring shaven, melted, solid and infused chocolate items in dark, white and milk chocolate. Their motto is 'A life without chocolate is no life at all'. Agreed.

When: 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays
Where: Corner of Margaret and Edward Streets
Price: $49 pp ($25 for kids)
More Information: Visit their website here.

5. I Heart Brownies

I do heart brownies. Big time. My husband surprised me with a mix box of these brownies for Mother's Day and they were INCREDIBLE. Turkish Delight Brownie was my personal favourite. Closely followed by salted caramel.

Dedicated to gooey and delicious brownies, I Heart Brownies, have twelve types of brownies to choose from seven days a week. They also do dessert and coffee. All brownies are handmade daily using a secret recipe, this is what makes them so special. Plus their gift wrapping is out of this world for a present.

Where: Wintergarden, Brisbane and 17 Hamilton Place, Bowen Hills
More Information: Visit their website here.

So there you have it, some of the best places in Brisbane to cure your chocolate cravings.

Where is your favourite chocolate place or chocolate related activity? Perhaps you have an amazing chocolate recipe to share? Please let us know we would love to hear from you!
