Your guide to What's On this Halloween in Brisbane

Halloween is now well and truly becoming mainstream in Australia, and I must admit, I love it. What is there not to love about dressing up, eating lollies and celebrating all things spooky after all.

This year in Brisbane, there are tons of Halloween events and activities happening. Here are some of the best that we have found. If you know of anymore, please let us know so we can add them to the guide!

Do you want to learn how to knit? Or have recently started and would like to meet some new friends to share your creativity with, all while having a good chat? The Brisbane Knitting Club has classes for you!
The Brisbane Crochet Club meets weekly to learn crochet, meet other Brisbane mums, and have a good chat. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to come along!
1. Westfield Chermside Halloween Spooktacular Event

Chermside shops are inviting kids to visit the spooky retailers and say trick or treat to collect a halloween lolly. Then they can attend the spooky disco to dance the afternoon away. Costume are encouraged, and be sure to bring along something to collect those treats that are gathered. Free registrations are required.

You and your family are invited to a Photography for Parents Workshop on Sunday 28th April at New Farm Park.
2. A Hogwarts Halloween Magical Fundraiser

Hosted by Professor Dumbledore, both adults and children will be sorted into houses by a real life sorting hat. There will be children's prizes given out at an Owls ceremony halfway through the night, then an adult round of trivia for the older witches and wizards. There will be a variety of games and competition, butter beer and Hogsmeade style pub food.

3. Town Square's Halloween Spooktacular

Town Square in Redbank Plains is hosting a free halloween spooktacular with trick or treating, craft, face painting and more. Dress your kids up and then bring them along with a bucket in hand to trick or treat at the participating retailers before joining in on the fun free activities.

4. Paddington Halloween Neighbourhood Trick or Treat and Haunted House

Paddington Halloween is a community event for families. There will be neighbourhood self guide trick or treating and a homemade haunted house. It is a walk through experience for kids.

5. Trick or Treat Little Stanley Street

South Bank’s Little Stanley Street is once again hosting a spooktacular celebration with traditional Halloween activities, where family and friends can come together to eat, trick and treat. The street will be lined with colourful Halloween characters with plenty of trick or treat hot spots. You can then visit the Southbank Pumpkin Patch where you can pick the perfect pumpkin as a take-home keepsake with proceeds being donated to Queensland Children’s Hospital.

6. Brisbane Fright Market

Over two nights, The Rocklea Markets are being transformed into a a Fright Market for the whole family to enjoy and be spooked. There will be a trick or treat trail, Haunted House, competitions for best-dressed child and adult, cocktails and live bands.

7. Howl-O-Ween at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

Lone Pine is hosting a howl-ing good night to celebrate Halloween. Come dressed in your animal best to enjoy a free screening of Zootopia, a haunted maze, family games and more.

8. Manly Harbour Halloween Street Party

Get dressed up and get set for another year of the Manly Harbour Halloween Street Party! This free family event will have thirteen hours of non stop entertainment on two live stages from 1pm. There will be fireworks, water entertainment and displays, free movies, rides, food and lots of thrills to get you in the Halloween spirit.

9. Crocs Playcentre Count Crocula's Halloween Party

Crocs Play Centre is hosting a Halloween Party with lots of activities and decorations. For $15, children will get entry, unlimited play and a free snappy meal. Kids are encouraged to dress up as there will be a prize for the best costume.

10. Blackwood Street Halloween Festival

Blackwood Street in Mitchelton is coming alive this Halloween. There will be a street parade, haunted house, market stalls, creation stations, live music, costume competitions and street stalls.
