Join in the activities of BrisSizzle and Sounds and help support services to provide essential services to the community.
BrisSizzle and Sounds is a community initiative and will be held at Victoria Park on Saturday 11 May 2024 running from 10 am to 2 pm.
This free event has something for the whole family and will feature local artists, food trucks, and kids activities. A special treat will include two sessions of the
Bluey Live Interactive Experience as well as the opportunity to meet your favourite blue-heeler sisters.
While outdoor fun is on the agenda, BrisSizzle and Sounds has an important element and will be raising vital funds for charities
Foodbank Queensland and Drug ARM. Particularly at this time of economic challenge and homelessness, Foodbank Queensland provides food and grocery relief to 2,844 front-line charities and 3,379 school breakfast programs to help feed people in need.
So significant is the food hunger issue that a Foodbank Report found that 1 in 5 Queensland households experience hunger each year. The main reason is based on the cost of living.
Drug Arm provides a range of mental health, alcohol and other drug awareness, rehabilitation and management programs.
What Else
Victoria Park is located at Herston Road, Herston (opposite the Royal Brisbane Hospital). The event is an initiative of the Lord Mayor's Charitable Trust. In the past financial year, the Trust distributed over $1 million in funds to over 100 local Brisbane charities through 224 grants.
