Cactus Jack's in Redcliffe

by Sally Foster (follow)
Tex Mex at its finest and on the waterfront

I had a family dinner with my toddler, baby and in laws at Cactus Jack's in Redcliffe last night and it was such a great experience that I had to share. The food was delicious, the people that worked there were really attentive and the view was lovely.

Going out for dinner with kids can be daunting to say the least. Cactus Jacks does not have a dedicated kids play area, but they do cater to families. They have high chairs, baby change facilities and a great kids menu. My three year old loved the quesadillas. Although these weren't technically on the kids menu, they were only $12.95.

Cactus Jacks has a really fun and eclectic vibe, taking the whole tex mex theme to the next level. The restaurant is fully decked out in vintage paraphernalia, Mexican themed sombreros and ponchos, mixed with a western theme. You can sit inside in one of the really fun booths, or outside to take in the bay breezes.

Besides the delicious margaritas and really yummy food, in big portions might I add, the best part about Cactus Jacks is the location. They are located on the waterfront at Redcliffe, close to the pier. So the water views are really nice if you sit outside. They are also close by to Rotary Park.

Rotary Park is only a 3 minute walk from the restaurant and has a big pirate ship, swings, tunnel slide and ropes for climbing. So you can take your kids there either before or after dining, to give them a chance to stretch their legs.

I would recommend Cactus Jack's for a casual family dinner or even lunch. If you like smokey and full flavoured food, this is your place.

Location: 165 Redcliffe Parade, Brisbane
Parking: Street parking and lots of parking lots nearby with 2-3 hour parking
Opening Hours:
Breakfast - Sunday 8:30am–11:30am
Lunch - Friday, Saturday & Sunday 11:30am–5pm
