Carindale Recreation Reserve

by Sally Foster (follow)
Space Themed Fun

Carindale Recreation Reserve is an excellent all ages playground, not far from the Carindale shopping centre and set within a nature reserve. It is a space themed playground, with a ton of fun equipment and you could easily spend half a day here.

The main feature of the playground is the rocket ship that plays sound effects and has some great interactive features inside. The other space themed equipment includes a mini mars rover, 'moon rocks' for hopping along and some puzzle games. There are also the prerequisite spinners, swings, slides, see-saws, spider web, slides and a fort.

My favourite feature other than the rocket ship is the excellent double swing. This is where two swings face each other and you can swing together with your little one. It is the same type as found at New Farm Park and just so much fun.

There is plenty of shade at this playground, with the main space covered by shade sails and large leafy trees, there are also plenty of shaded picnic tables for a bite to eat.

The playground is only partially fenced along the internal park road, so be mindful if you have a runner. The base is bark and rubber though so is gentle on little knees which is an excellent feature.

Because the playground is set within a nature reserve, there is plenty of wide opened spaces for playing ball games, having a picnic and tracks for running and riding bikes. There is fitness equipment and is great for a place to meet up with a mother's group or have a birthday party.
