European-inspired, Wintertide Wonderland Twilight Markets are coming to Carseldine this July for an outdoor shopping and entertainment experience with a difference.



The Europeans are renowned for their winter markets with unique, handcrafted items, fairy lights and a sprinkling of snow to say that the cooler days are coming. Now you can taste a European market right here in Brisbane with some features inspired by our cousins in the north.

What would a Wintertide Wonderland Market be without a sip of mulled wine or a found of schnapps to enjoy about a bonfire? If you haven't tried mulled wine before you are in for a treat. Mulled wine, also known as spiced wine, is an alcoholic drink usually made with red wine, along with various mulling spices and sometimes raisins, served hot or warm. It is a traditional drink during winter, especially around Christmas in the northern hemisphere.

And then there is schnapps. This German-created beverage can include distilled fruit brandies, herbal liqueurs, infusions, and "flavoured liqueurs" made by adding fruit syrups, spices, or artificial flavourings to neutral grain spirits.

Look out for the Swiss-Alps pop-up bar to find the traditional Gluhwein and schnapps.

Back to the shopping! The popular Carseldine Markets will feature a special night time version with over 250 vendors offering a wide variety of hand-created artisan goods, street food and more than a dash of live entertainment across 2 stages.

There's also fun for the kids with face painters, a jumping castle and roving entertainment like stilt walkers and fire twirlers.

You can catch the Carseldine Wintertide Wonderland Twilight Markets from 4 pm to 10 pm on Saturday 27 July 2024 at 133 Dorville Road, Carseldine. Carseldine is located in the northern suburbs of Brisbane, 18 kilometres from the Central Business District.
