It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Well, in Brisbane it sure is. There are plenty of wonderful family friendly Christmas events and experiences happening around the neighbourhood that will be sure to get everyone into the Christmas spirit.
On Friday 30th November from 6:30 to 8:30pm, Brisbane’s towering 22 metre tall Christmas tree is returning to King George Square and you can bring along your family to watch the twinkling lights being turned on.
The Enchanted Garden treats visitors to a magnificent evening walk with mesmerising fairy lights along a meandering path of colour that will leave your little ones gobsmacked. It is running from 7th to 19th December with free entry. It’s open from 6.30pm to 10pm nightly.
The annual Christmas Parade presented by David Jones will march through the Queen Street Mall and Albert Street right into King George Square with singing and dancing performers. And special guest: Santa. The parade will take place at 7pm every night from Friday 14 until Sunday 23 December.
Listen and sing along to Christmas carol classics, as the sun goes down. You can bring along a picnic and enjoy it on the green while you listen as well. It is free from 6pm to 8pm from 14th to 23rd December.
If you don't want to head into the city for Christmas Carols, then the Moreton Bay Council is hosting plenty of free family friendly events. The signature carols are at North Lakes, Pine Rivers Park, Scarborough or Caboolture, but there are plenty in other areas as well. See here for more info.
Logan are also hosting some family friendly Christmas Carols to get you into the Christmas Spirit.
From 14th to 23rd December, you can pick up your Christmas presents, and something special for yourself, at the Christmas gift markets at South Bank. There will be stationary, jewellery, homewares and more and of course, lots of yummy food. All stalls are open from 3-10pm daily.
Aerial Angels will be running an Elf Academy on the Little Stanley Street Lawn from 3pm to 7pm during 14 to 23 December. Classes are free and include activities for kids such as hula hoop training, juggling and aerial trapeze. Or something more suitable to little ones like craft and dancing.
Join in Christmas crafts and games at West End or Nundah on Sunday 9th December at 2pm. Suitable for five years and older, there will be songs, craft and storytelling all based on festive themes that come together to make this a fun and interactive workshop. $5 per participant.
If you missed out on the last Snow4Kids experience, they are back and all set to deliver a winter wonderland. Operating from December 14th to December 23rd 2018, there will be real snow at the Southbank piazza and kids can dance, slide and play in the snow.
