Santa's elves have been busy helping make and pack presents and getting ready to spread joy and happiness to the world this Christmas. These cheeky little tricksters have set up homes in the Brisbane City Centre. Can you find the Tiny Elves Doors scattered throughout the Queen Street Mall?

Tradition has it that Santa's elves are magical creatures that live in cottages that are spread across the North Pole. Their jobs in getting ready for Christmas are to help Santa and Mrs Clause make presents, answer the mail, feed the reindeer and make sweet treats.

This Christmas, Santa's elves have overtaken the Queen Street Mall, which is part of the CBD's heartbeat and shopping precinct. When you visit the pedestrian Mall, you can search for the collection of doors hidden throughout the shopping district to find where these tiny toymakers live.

The doors are teeny tiny, and you will need a keen eye to find them. My clue is to check out some of the mall's landmarks, such as the stages, water features, and main shopping entrances.

Along the way, you might meet some roving noel-themed street performers: a sweet angel and a jolly juggler on a unicycle bringing some extra yuletide joy. And of course, don't forget to stop off at the Brisbane Arcade to check out the glittering and spectacular display of Christmas lights that sparkle through the haute couture shops of high fashion culture.

Make your own Elf Door

After finding all of the elf doors, you can make your own. Drop by the Queen Street Mall Stage and join the workshop to decorate your own tiny door to take home.

The workshops are held on the weekends of 7 to 8, 14 to 15 and 21 to 22 December 2024 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Queen Street Mall Stage. This is a drop-in only event so no bookings are required.

They will only be around for Christmas so don't miss the chance to find the doorway to the magical festive elves and see the Queen Street Mall come to life for the festive season.
