With riverside views and live music, Eat Street Markets are really something special. A huge sea of shipping containers have been decked out and filled with cuisines from every corner of the globe.

From dumplings to pork belly to donut fries topped with ice cream, you can sample dishes from Africa, Asia, South America, Europe and more. You donít need to leave Brisbane to take a culinary trip around the world.

Once you have had your fill, or if you are just taking a short break, take your food baby to the Whale Bar for something cold. They offer beer, wine, cocktails or juice.

There are also plenty of non alcoholic options throughout Eat Street. My personal favourite being a mango coconut mocktail at Market Square.

Baby change facilities are located in the disabled toilets. If you go on a Sunday at opening time, you will have a bit more room to roam around if you have your pram. It can get very crowded, despite ample seating.

WHEN: Eat Street is open every weekend of the year, from Friday to Saturday 4pm to 10pm and Sunday 11am to 8pm.

PARKING: There are 1200 free parking spaces, but it does pack out. An alternative to driving is to catch a City Cat to the Northshore Hamilton Ferry terminal.

COST: Entry is $2.50 except for under 12ís, which is free. There is an ATM at the entrance if you forget to bring cash. Entry is cash only and some vendors will only take cash as it speeds things up.

EVENTS: For the Christmas and New Years period, there is going to be Fireworks on the River shows at 7pm on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.
