Family Friendly Camping Spots Near Brisbane

by Sally Foster (follow)
Camping spots near Brisbane that you can bring kids

The Brisbane Mums must be a bunch of adventurous and intrepid women, because the topic of the best spots to go camping with kids is one that is raised over and over again.

While I myself am not a camper, some of these places sound so accessible and fun, that even a die hard hotel/resort girl like me, may be swayed to get down and dirty at a camp site. Especially when the camp site has a swimming pool, hot showers and a roaring fire.

You and your family are invited to a Photography for Parents Workshop on Sunday 28th April at New Farm Park.
The Brisbane Crochet Club meets weekly to learn crochet, meet other Brisbane mums, and have a good chat. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to come along!
So here is our list of family friendly camping spots near Brisbane as recommended by the Brisbane Mums Group:

1. Lake Moogerah, Moogerah

Lake Moogerah Caravan Park offers a variety of camping sites including powered and unpowered camping and caravan sites. On site facilities include a kiosk, toilets, hot showers, baby baths, laundry, camp kitchen with electric bbqs, camp fire pits, playground, boat and kayak hire and wifi.

"Moogerah camp site is about 1.5 hours from Brisbane. Kids can use bikes, small play ground, swimming in the lake. Family campsite. We went there for the last long weekend and it was great. Some sites have fire pits if you ask for one" - BMG Member

"River shore resort is on the river, sunny coast- is new... with powered sites, glamping safari tents... GREAT activities for kids (kids pool, slides, playground, etc all fenced in) plus a jumping cushion and kids movies at night!! We have been a few times with a group of around 30 )adults and kids) and management are helpful with trying to get you all next to each other. Lots of people take boats/ kayaks etc and there is a jetty and loading area inside the grounds. Oh plus a shop inside that has sugary treats/ ice cream/ newspapers... good coffee and even a cafe that does brekky/lunch/dinner. Also close from shopping like woollies. They have 2 fire pits along the river. Awesome place!!" - BMG Member
