Fuel and Co in Nundah

by Sally Foster (follow)
Delicious and eclectic food that is still family friendly

I took my toddler to Fuel and Co over the weekend and I think he enjoyed his breakfast more than any other breakfast I have fed him in over two years. He gobbled up a perfect sizing of kids bacon, eggs, toast and a banana smoothie while my husband pinched pieces of bacon from his plate.

Located in Nundah, nearby to bustling Nundah Village, Fuel and Co has a wonderful indoor outdoor feel and serves up delicious breakfast and lunch seven days a week. The best part is, they open early at 6am, so to all parents of very early risers like myself, you can get a lovely breakfast out of the way while the rest of the general public slumbers. For parents of rambunctious toddlers and crying newborns, it really takes the pressure off.

There are plenty of high chairs available and room for prams, and the kids menu is simple but great. Using local produce, kids can have cheese toast with hash browns, toast with avocado, bacon and eggs or pancakes for breakfast.

In comparison, the adults menu is adventurous while also being great. Some options include apple crumble hot cakes, cauliflower pakoras and poached eggs and potato and tarragon waffles with smoked trout. Having eaten here many times myself, I have never been let down by the portions, quality and taste of the food served here.

The other great thing about Fuel and Co is the coffee is excellent and the staff are so friendly. They are conscious to put hot drinks far out of reach of little hands, provide service with a smile and make you feel welcome and relaxed. It does get very busy on weekends, but I have never found the wait times to be unusually long.

There are toy boxes available to keep the little ones busy too so you can distract your kids while you order a coffee to go or sit down for a meal.

You and your family are invited to a Photography for Parents Workshop on Sunday 28th April at New Farm Park.

Fuel and Co also offers functions and catering for your next special event, if you would like to keep your day local and low key, while still impressing your guests.

So the next family meal out, or even mothers group meet up, head down to friendly Fuel and Co and then go for a walk along Kedron Brook afterwards to walk off any pancakes you may consume!
