Celebrate the interplanetary characters from a galaxy far far away on international Star Wars Day on 4 May 2024.



If you have watched any or all the Star Wars films, you will know that the line "May the Force Be with You" is a standout trademark for the intergalactic battles of this mega-movie franchise.

Well, did you know that May 4 is International Star Wars Day where fans from across the globe celebrate the movie that introduced us to immortalised characters like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, C3PO and more? Created by George Lucas, Star Wars was first released in 1977 and went on to become one of the most successful movie franchises of all time. Click here for more information about Star Wars.

May 4 is considered a holiday by Star Wars fans to celebrate the franchise's film series, books and culture.

So all the Stormtroopers can unite in a day of unity the Gardens City public library is putting out a challenge.

Events and Activities
What: Star Wars Free Family Trilogy Challenge
When: 10:00 - 11:00 am
Where: Garden City Library,
Garden City Shopping Centre, Corner Logan and Kessels Road, Upper Mt Gravatt

Apart from this event, the library is open:
Monday: 9am-5.30pm
Tuesday: 9am-5.30pm
Wednesday: 9am-5.30pm
Thursday: 9am-8pm
Friday: 9am-5.30pm
Saturday: 9am-4pm
Sunday: 10am-4pm
Closed on public holidays

If you can't make it to the event, other ideas for celebrating this day with family and friends include a Star Wars-themed party, trivia night, or simply watching the movies in sequence.
