John Scott Park is located in the beautiful Samford Village, and was a wonderful find on a day trip with my family. It is a fenced playground with a soft bottom, with segmented areas for both big and small kids. There is a ton of really interesting and varied equipment that is new and provides challenges for adventurous souls.
There are two different sized forts. The big one has climbing walls, ropes and ladders that are really fun to climb, as well as a train to climb over, lots of swings for different ages, see saws, spinners and more. There is also a big field right next door for kicking a ball, and paths for riding bikes and scooters.
There are picnic tables that are fully covered, as well as barbecues, so it is the perfect spot for a breakfast or lunch meet up. There are also toilets and drinking fountains on site.
John Scott Park, is directly across the road from some wonderful cafes, including The Flying Nun, so you can either go for brunch beforehand, or pick up your coffee before play. It is also 100m away from the incredible Harry Potter Store of Requirement. A must visit for lovers, or even skeptics, of Harry Potter. You can read more about this store here.
So the next time you visit Samford, even if you are on a day trip to Mount Glorious and the surrounding valley, be sure to visit this playground on your way.
Location: Main Street, Samford Village
