It is an excellent playground, with forts, ramps, slides, tunnels, a sandpit, swings, merry go round and lots of other equipment to climb and play on. It has something for all ages, but a word of caution to Mums of adventurous toddlers, there are some sheer drops from the fort so you may have to follow them onto the platform. It is definitely one of those playgrounds though, that you can spend at least a few hours there playing, because of the size and varied equipment. It is a true adventurers playground and perfect for imagination play.

With lots of shady trees and picnic tables, it is the perfect place for a picnic or a wonderful location for a birthday party. It does tend to get busy on the weekends though, so you may have to stake out your spot early on.

It is also a wonderful location for teaching your little ones to ride their bikes or scooters. There is a designated training track and long flat tracks for practicing their newfound skills.

Another great thing about Kalinga Park is that it is right by the brook, so you can spot ducks and other wildlife, and you may even be lucky to find some fairy houses hidden amongst the lush trees.

Kalinga Park plays host to events both during the week and on weekends, including free council fitness sessions. You can find out more about these [Link https://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/whats-on/active-healthy/active-parks#/?i=1 here].
