Quietly tucked away in the back streets of Eatons Hill in Brisbane's north, you will find the little gem that is [Link https://www.kumbartcho.org.au/ Kumbartcho Sanctuary]. Kumbartcho Sanctuary offers a range of activities for children of all ages. Be sure to pack lunch as this is a full day adventure.

As you arrive at Kumbartcho Sanctuary, it is well worth a trip to the environmental centre first. Here you can learn about the native flora and fauna, as well as pick up a map of the Sanctuary. As you move through the centre they have a range of art and craft activities, colouring sheets, puzzles and puppets for children to play with. This kept my three year old entertained for over an hour before we even got into the Sanctuary.

Adjacent to the environmental centre is a well equipped park including a large cubby house, swings and a play fort. Toilet facilities and picnic shelters are easily accessed nearby. For the older kids and adults there are plenty of paths for scooters and bikes as well as bush walking trails.

If you decide to venture out on the trails, you will be able to explore a dam full of wildlife, fairy garden and koala walk. The trails are not pram friendly but there are some smaller walks that are suitable for younger children on foot.

As you meander through the paths you will find native plant species, many which attract beautiful wildlife. What is even better is you can visit the onsite nursery and take some home with you for only a few dollars.

So if your looking to get the kids back into nature these coming school holidays, be sure add this to your calendar.
