If you are a resident of North Lakes in Brisbane's northside, you will know that it is the perfect community for families to live in. As well as a huge plethora of shopping centres, schools, playcentres, cafes and sporting fields, there are also lots and lots of walking tracks that are great for bikes, scooters and prams.
The walking tracks have been carefully constructed to take you on a journey around lakes, through nature and also passed lots and lots of great little playgrounds. It truly is a suburb perfect for raising your family.
One of my favourite playgrounds in North Lakes is the one on Medinah Circuit. The reason is because it has a huge flying fox. My three year old loves it! With sand at the bottom, we can whip along it over and over. I think that every playground should feature a flying fox really.
This playgrounds also has swings, roundabouts, climbing equipment, rockers and a sandpit with house for imagination play. It is the perfect stopping off point when you are out for a walk or ride. There is partial shade as well as a huge open field for running and playing ball.
I particularly love the sandy bottom, because you can bring along a bucket and spade. Who needs the beach anyway!
