New Farm Park

by Sally Foster (follow)
With a fantastic playground, wide open green spaces and a riverside setting, New Farm Park is undoubtedly one of the best parks in Brisbane

The gorgeous New Farm Park is a favourite for families all across Brisbane. The picturesque location makes a fabulous backdrop for family photos, especially during the Springtime when the Jacaranda trees are blooming with vibrant purple flowers.

New Farm Park is the perfect place for a mothers group meet up due to its central proximity. There is access via city cat, bus or car, with ample parking available.

The Asian Street Food tour of Brisbane will introduce you to a variety of delicious Asian food, including Chinese, Malaysian, Thai, Vietnamese and Filipino.

There is enough space for everyone, and a couple of cute cafes to pick up a coffee before laying down a picnic rug either by the river, rose garden or near the playground.

The playground is gorgeous, with the equipment being interwoven around big fig trees, so a game of peek a boo or adventurer is great fun. There is play equipment suitable for all ages and it is a big enough playground that even though it is immensely popular, it doesn't feel too crowded.

If you have bigger kids, there is plenty of wide open green spaces to fly a kite or kick a ball. There are also walking and bike paths by the river.

If you are looking for a place to hold a party, New Farm Park is great. Check out the Brisbane City Council website for options to hire different areas.

The Brisbane Crochet Club meets weekly to learn crochet, meet other Brisbane mums, and have a good chat. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to come along!
