If you are looking for a quintessential Brisbane playground with stunning river views on a tree lined street bursting with flowers, then I would highly recommend checking out Orleigh Park in West End.
Located right on the river, you can walk, run, bike ride or scooter your way along the designated paths, before having a play at this amazing playground.
The playground is set on two different levels that has tons of equipment for all ages. The top level boasts a sway, fort with slides, see-saws and rockers. You can then catch the slide down to the lower level.
The lower level has even more equipment, including forts, spinners, swings, rockers and more. There is all abilities equipment available at this playground which makes it suitable for all children.
What I particularly love about this park is the gorgeous scooter and bike track that weaves around the playgrounds. It has bumps to go over, bridges and signs, and is perfect for little legs that are just learning how to ride. There is also lots of big fig trees and stepping stones for nature play and exploring. My three year old loved to ride his bike along the tracks and practice his skills before having a 'bear hunt' in the long grass and the branches of the trees. Imagination play at its finest!
Orleigh Park is a great place for a birthday party or family get together. You can make a designated booking for a site via the council website. The facilities at this playground include:
shelter sheds/picnic shelters
uncovered picnic tables.
It is not fenced but is set back from the road, with plenty of wide open green space for kicking a ball and laying down picnic blankets and chairs.
I would recommend checking out Orleigh Park for an inner Brisbane located play!
Location: 68 Hill End Terrace, West End
