School Holiday Activities in Brisbane

Months of school holiday inspiration

Ahhh school holidays. They stretch almost endlessly before us. Coming up with inspiration every single day can be hard work. Kids can be demanding and there is nothing worse than a bored child.

We have a huge list of school activities and ideas to inspire you these holidays. From free to low cost and some more expensive. They span right across Brisbane, so we hope that you find tons of fun ahead of you for you and your family.

Do you want to learn how to knit? Or have recently started and would like to meet some new friends to share your creativity with, all while having a good chat? The Brisbane Knitting Club has classes starting in January 2019.

Play Centres are a great indoor option for days that are rainy or too hot to play outside.

Shopping

Brisbane has some quirky stores for kids and some shopping centres have great play areas. You can have some lunch, go to the movies and enjoy the air conditioning. Make sure to check out your local shopping centre for holiday programs.

- Indooroopilly Shopping Centre has Minipilly which is a fantastic indoor play area that is fully enclosed
- Harry Potter Store of Requirement - Samford
- The Mad Hatters Book Shop - Manly
- Weekly craft and gardening activities at your local Bunnings

Park and Library Events and Activities

Both the Brisbane City Council and the Moreton Bay Regional Council have tons of programs and activities in parks, libraries and halls throughout Brisbane. There is a whole page dedicated to 'What's On in Brisbane' on the Brisbane City Council website. This page is absolutely choc full of free and low cost activities for all ages.

The activities aren't boring either. Some of the activities on offer include:
