The Mad Hatter: "Have I gone mad?"
Alice: "I'm afraid so. You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best people are."
Now I don't know about you, but I am a sucker for all things quaint and quirky, and from the White Rabbit waiting to welcome you in at the door, to the constant "Wonderland" theme throughout, I knew that The Mad Hatters Bookshop was somewhere I just had to visit!
The Mad Hatters Bookshop is an independently run bookstore that aims to 'create an enchanting space for visitors young and old' - and that is exactly what they have achieved. Beautifully decorated inside and out, even older customer's will struggle not to fall into a sense of excitement when they walk through the door.
Kids will love following the yellow brick road that leads into the store, where they can browse a huge variety of children's literature, enjoy the creative displays, and curl up with a good book in their very own wonderland!
The rear of the store has been magically transformed into a children's fairy tale reading nook, with an enchanting mural covering the entire back wall.

The magic is completed with a fluffy "grass" carpet, comfy toadstools, wooden log shaped pillows and various cuddly, forest pals- the perfect place to get lost in a good book whilst mum and dad browse the shelves.
As well as stocking a large variety of children's and adult books, the store is also the perfect place to gift shop. From stationary, cards, small toys and various other bits and bobs, you're sure to find something to suit the occasion.
Once you've finished shopping for the latest must read, there is also heaps of other events and activities going on at The Mad Hatters Book Shop. The store plays regular host to
local authors and illustrators, runs
creative writing and art classes for kids, and also offers children aged 7 and up to become a member in their very own
'Junior Bookclub'.
If that wasn't enough, "Wonderland" also opens up its door to little ones on Monday's and Thursday's at 10am for
'Story Time' (
free to attend), and holds a
'Toddler Art Class' (
$15 per class) on Friday's at 9:30am.
