An Aussie Mum’s mission to help families sell their outgrown kids clothes online with less hassles and safer, instant payments.
There’s no denying that babies and children accumulate an insurmountable amount of clothes and ‘stuff’. What’s more, most of this is never even worn before they outgrow it!
It’s hard to believe that these tiny little outfits can have such a huge impact on your life and the environment! But when you consider that a baby is estimated to outgrow up to 3 clothing sizes by the time they are 6 months, and up to 8 sizes by the time they are 2 years, you can start to see how it can all add up!

Just providing your kids with clothing creates a huge dent in your bank account, and let’s not forget the big stack of boxes full of clothing in your storage!
It’s also worth considering the environmental impact of this huge amount of outgrown clothing that has the potential to end up as waste, especially when considering us Aussies send up to 85% of our clothing to landfill every year.
So, what can you do to do with all of the clothes and ‘stuff’ that your babies and kids go through?
Aussie mum Sarah, founder of new online marketplace Jumping Jack says it’s simple - sell.
"We all know that selling the new, near-new and great quality clothes is a good solution, but currently the online platforms we use have many drawbacks putting us off from doing it," she says.
"Buyers often want to negotiate the price and ask lots of questions before committing to buy which can be time-consuming and stressful."
"Then there are the no-shows and the time wasters, and hassles around payment including leaving cash in letterboxes!"
"Selling our stuff online has become a challenging and frustrating process for families - resulting in us storing way too much in our house, or giving up and sending it all to waste facilities."
Sarah set out to resolve these issues and make selling an easy, pleasant experience where sellers get paid up front, and don’t have to endure haggling.
After being completely shocked at how quickly her kids grew out of clothing, Sarah started to investigate the best way to sell her kids clothes. She found that for both buyers and sellers, there were many things that made the process difficult and frustrating because they hadn’t been set up as an online shop.
The existing platforms had no options to search on a specific size or clothing type, and contained listings with almost no information (forcing you to message the seller back and forward) and being restricted to the local area.
"It was hard to figure out if the items were what I wanted," she said. "And it was impossible to find any second-hand maternity clothing - a whole wardrobe I suddenly needed but didn’t want to go out and pay full retail price for."
With Jumping Jack, she says the whole experience of buying and selling has been re-imagined.
Designed by a Mum for the busy mums of Australia, it’s dedicated to making buying and selling your baby, kids and maternity brands easy and hassle free.
"Those other platforms were not designed for selling clothing, they’re really just online bulletin boards full of random stuff," she says.
"Jumping Jack is just like an online shop - with detailed categories for size, brand, type, age, gender. It’s so much easier to find the clothing you want and like, which of course makes it easier for sellers to sell too!"
For sellers, the major benefits of using Jumping Jack include:
Instant payment when the buyer commits - no more holds or no shows!
