The exhilarating 260m pump track with skateable elements is just one of the new features in the redevelopment of the 64 acres Victoria Park . JMac Constructions completed the track to maximize the inner city outdoor space.

If you are new to the world of outdoor cycling, scooting a pump bike track might be a different adventure. The track is a man-made circuit of rollers, banked turns, and features designed to be ridden completely by riders "pumping" to generate momentum instead of pedalling or pushing.

The FREE, all-age track is suitable for beginners right through to accomplished teens and includes a number of features for riders and those watching on including:

  • a riding track
  • additional small multi-use space with skateable elements
  • new amenities block with PWD toilet
  • picnic shelter and seating
  • bike racks
  • new entry/exit driveway with a 16-space car park
  • connecting footpaths
  • bioretention basins for flood mitigation
  • turfing, landscaping, lighting, and tree planting

To ensure that everyone stays safe, all riders need to wear a helmet. Those not tempted by the adrenalin-filled ride can comfortably watch from the hill and seek shelter under one of the mature gums which line the track.

Not only is it exciting but biking and scooting on the pump tract offers several advantages. It is great exercise, gets kids outside, helps form friendships, builds bike riding and motor skills, and, importantly, is a fantastic school holiday and weekend boredom-busting fun time.

The track was completed in October 2024 and is just one of the initiatives to re-develop the 45-hectare Victoria Park as a fantastic, green space and lifestyle destination in Brisbane for visitors and residents.

Visiting the track is made all the easier with two hours of free parking in a designated car park and a toilet block. You will need to bring your own bike or scooter, as they are not available for hire at the track. The park is open daily and lit until 9.30 pm.

Herston is an easy 2.9 kilometres from the Brisbane Central Business District and is accessible by bus.

Try Brisbane's newest recreational track this school holidays for yourself pump it up for fitness and fun.
