From 27 July 2024 to 12 August 2024 (Olympics) and 20 August to 8 September 2024 (Paralympics) Southbank Parklands will transform into a French playground and the best ticket in Brisbane to watch the events in a free, fully inclusive, open-air pop-up. Cheer on our sporting champions like Ariane Titmus, Molly O'Callaghan and Kyle Chalmers in the pool, the marvellous Women's soccer team, The Matildas, and that is just the start.
The Southbank Cultural Forecourt will feature a huge screen running live the broadcast and replays of the multi-sports across the tournament. Add to that community sporting demonstrations and challenges, entertainment and food trucks and your Olympics immersion is covered.
If you are talking about Paris, you've got to include its famous landmarks. The piece-de-resistance is the installation of a glittering four-storey tall replica Eiffel Tower, which will shine and sparkle gold, silver and bronze to celebrate Australian athletes winning medals.
And finally and for some, most importantly, it wouldn't be a French experience without some of the best foodies and entertainment delights which the French are known for. There will be buttery, flaky croissants, baguettes, naughty French martinis, skirt-twirling cancan dancers, French-inspired picnics, expressive mime artists, and opera singers along the River Brisbane.
And if you still need more Parisian flair, you can also head to the other permanent Eiffel Tower in Brisbane at Park Road Milton for a touch of Savoir Fair.
Other live sites include:
