What's Happening for Father's Day in Brisbane 2019

Here is a list of some ways to celebrate this upcoming Father's Day

Father's Day is fast approaching and it can be a lot of pressure to think up a fun and exciting day to celebrate the special man in your life.

So we are here to help! Here is a list of events and ideas that are happening in Brisbane, to help you celebrate this Father's Day in 2019. Hopefully, there will be something here for everyone!



The Brisbane Crochet Club meets weekly to learn crochet, meet other Brisbane mums, and have a good chat. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to come along!

For the Adventurous Dad

1. Flying Trapeze Classes

Fly through the air with the greatest of ease with these flying trapeze classes. These lessons are suitable for all abilities and are sure to be fun as the whole family learns to swing and fly and even complete some tricks.

2. Air Combat Centre

Give Dad a taste for flying like a real airline pilot and pretend to be Tom Cruise for a day. Experience a 727, F/A 18 or L-39 Jet Flight simulator.

3. Story Bridge Adventure Climb

See Brisbane from a whole new perspective from the top of the Story Bridge. A bridge climb can even be completed at dawn, so Dad can watch the sun rise over the Brisbane River. Or experience a twilight or nighttime climb.

For the Music Loving Dad

1. Jazz Fest

The Wynnum Manly Jazz Festival is a free fun festival that is held on Father's Day on the Wynnum Manly foreshore. Listen to live jazz while enjoying the food and free activities for the kids.

Cost: FREE

For the Sporty Dad

1. Golf at Victoria Park

Let Victoria Park host your Dad this Father's Day. Partake in golf lessons, play some putt putt as a family or let loose in the driving range. Finish off the day at the amazing bistro, with a playground right next door.

2. Father and Son Fishing

Join 2 Bent Rods for a fishing lesson by the bay and partake in some bonding time in the great outdoors.

For the Foodie Dad

1. Eat Street Markets

Head to Eat Street at Hamilton for a foodie's dream. Enjoy river views with over 180 different food and entertainment options from around the globe. Open Sundays from noon to 8pm.

Location: 211D Macarthur Avenue, Hamilton
Cost: Admission price is a $3 coin for adults and kids under 12 are free

2. Feast at Mount Cotton Retreat

Enjoy either a champagne breakfast, brunch or lunch at the glorious Mount Cotton Retreat.

Location: 355 West Mount Cotton
Cost: Depends on what you order!

3. Brew Experience

Head to the Semi Pro Brewing Co microbrewery and taproom, to learn a bit about what goes into making beer and enjoy a tasting.

Location: 65 Manilla Street, East Brisbane

Fun Tours that are a bit out of the box

1. Craft Beer Walking Tour

A craft beer walking tour is three hours of learning about the art of brewing and sipping on some tasty drinks, as Dad visits three pubs on Caxton Street. Learning while drinking.

Location: Caxton Street, Brisbane
Cost: $75 pp

2. Kangaroo Segway Tours

I always thought that Segways look a little silly but also so much fun! Father's Day is a good chance to give it a go. These tours are supposed to be the best and is a totally family-friendly affair.

3. Kayaking Tours

Kayak along our own beautiful Brisbane River with the kayaking tours. You can go day or night, and marvel at the incredible Brisbane skyline.

For the Animal Loving Dad

1. Australia Zoo

Australia Zoo goes all out on Father's Day so it is a great opportunity to visit this amazing and iconic location. As well as all the usual animals, there will be an inflatable obstacle course, free Mrs Mac's pie for all dads, koala throwing competition and hands-on reptile presentations.

For the Dad Who Wants To Make Some Mates

1. Join the walk with Man with a Pram

Man with a Pram is an annual fundraiser for new and expecting Fathers. There will be coffee and treats before taking off for the 2km pram walk aimed at raising awareness for mens health and fatherhood.

Location: City Botanic Gardens
Cost: Donation based.
