From libraries to aqua parks, play cafes and playgrounds
This school holidays is a long one and you may find that your kids want to try something new! It can be hard to keep up with what is going on in Brisbane, so here are some new, or upgraded, places that you may not have visited yet from over the last twelve months.

The Boondall Wetlands Environment Centre has reopened with great new activities for kids to enjoy. From the animation station, to the synthetic mud display and Agents of Discovery App, there is something for everyone.
Howard Smith Wharves is Brisbane's newest riverside destination beneath the story bridge, with beautiful views of our city. With a multitude of restaurants, pubs and a green space, you can bring your family to one of the venues, or bring a picnic rug and get a takeaway from them and eat and drink in the sunshine.
Sandgate Aquatic Centre on the waterfront, has had a makeover and is now opened to the public and has a includes a 50-metre outdoor pool, 25m indoor heated pool and an awesome outdoor water play area that is great for kids. Including a tipping bucket that makes quite the crash.
Ascot has a brand spanking new park which includes an excellent all ages and abilities playground which has a strong focus on imagination play. This includes a cubby house with slides, swings, maze and spider-web climbing frame, as well as an onsite stream and water pump.

Toombul Shopping Centre has been given yet another amazing facelift, with the new 'Upstairs at Toombul, now open, just in time for the summer holidays. There are a number of new eateries open, including dumplings, burgers, ramen, pasta and a couple of lovely cafes.
If you have kids, they will LOVE the 'popcorn' ball pit outside of the upgraded cinema. Kids can take a dip in the pit before swinging on the very cool neon swings and slides, and even have a boogie in the mirrored disco room. There is also a small slide and lots of turf patches for chilling out with your little ones with a coffee.
If you are sick of the endless menus at play centres of nuggets and chips, burgers and chips or pizzas and chips, and you are looking for somewhere that you can get delicious adult meals while still keeping the kids very happy, then the new play place Jugar is well worth a visit.
Located in trendy West End, Jugar is a kid friendly restaurant with a difference. It has the facilities that you would find in a play centre. But has been decked out in modern decor and offers up a beautiful fresh and healthy menu.
