Brisbane's Best Animal Farms

by Sally Foster (follow)
Show the kids some farm animals

There is nothing more special as a parent then watching your child's face light up in wonder. And all kids love animals and a farm experience.

These places are all in or around Brisbane and offer unique farm experiences, with lots of cute animals to see.

Naughty Little Kids

Naughty Little Kids is actually a farm for goats! A family run business based in the north of the Scenic Rim, Naughty Little Kids has farm tours every Sunday between 1pm and 5pm. While on a tour you can pat and feed a baby goat, milk a goat by hand, watch a cheese making demonstration, learn all about goats, and taste some delicious gelato and cheese.

White Ridge Farm

At White Ridge Farm, not only will children be able to walk around the farm and view the animals, they will also be able to pet them, hand feed them and even have a go at playing farmer and milking a cow!

Travel around the farm in style with an authentic hay ride, bring along a picnic to enjoy and once all of the farm fun is out of the way, kids can go wild on the onsite adventure playground and trampoline whilst parents take in the surroundings.

Trevena Glen offers farm stays, but they also have farm tours running 6 days per week. While their monthly open farm days are cancelled, the farm tours are for private groups and can be booked ahead.

With tours from 1 to 3 hours, children can participate in the feeding time for a more intimate and personal opportunity to meet our animals. There is also an opportunity to ride horses and ponies.

The Lyell Deer Sanctuary is home to a small crew of rescued deers. It is a unique place that offers education, serenity and a chance to get up close with these beautiful animals.

You can sit with, cuddle and hand feed the deers, they are very gentle creatures. It is wonderful for children who love animals, and makes a change from the bigger zoos and sanctuaries. It is a small place but well run by a local family.
