See a sky full of kites dancing in the breeze at this year's Redcliffe Kite Festival from Saturday 14 to Sunday 15 September 2024 on Brisbane's bayside.

As well as being a carefree social activity, kites have played an important role in our societies. They have been used to ward off evil, deliver messages, drop propaganda leaflets, spy on enemies, send radio signals, and measure the weather. They will deliver nothing but good times at this year's annual Kite Festival on the edge of Moreton Bay.

Now in its 29th year, the Redcliffe Kite Festival program is jam-packed with loads of entertainment and features both on the ground and in the air:
  • Watch some fancy flying with an aerobatic display at midday on both days
  • Show off your skills in the public kite flying zones open from 9am to 4pm on both days
  • Stroll through the markets
  • See the entertainment on the Kidstage
  • Jump aboard the Aquawarrior water vessels (additional cost)
  • Check out the sounds from the Busking stage

  • This family-friendly event is always a popular favourite and this year will be a real hit as former yellow Wiggle and children's entertainer, Emma Memma (Emma Watkins) will be singing and dancing in her live show during the festival.

Tickets are available for purchase through the Festival website at a cost of:
$7 per Child + Booking fee
$12 per Adult + Booking fee
    $30 per Family (2 x Adults + 2 x Children OR 1 X Adult + 3 x Children) + Booking fee
$7 per Concession (Pensioner and Student concession only. Does not include Health Care Card) + Booking fee
Children 2 and under can enter KiteFest for free! They must however have still ‘purchased’ a ticket via the online ticketing platform.

(There will be limited tickets available at the gate at a slightly higher price).

    What Else?
The Redcliffe Kite Festival will be held at Pelican Park, Clontarf. As a main tourism event for the region, the Festival has attracted some 30,000 visitors in past years. Redcliffe is located 40km north-east of Brisbane City and can be accessed via the Houghton Highway Bridge, offering the first glimpse of Moreton Bay.
