The little blue penguins have arrived!

If you are looking for a lovely family day out that even your smallest family members will enjoy, then look no further than [Link https://www.sealifesunshinecoast.com.au/ Sea Life Aquarium] in Mooloolaba. We have been every year for the last three years with my toddler, and he has always found something new to love about it.

You may remember the aquarium as 'Underwater World' when you were a kid. It has definitely upgraded since then, but it still has the awesome tunnel of water that you can walk through and see sharks, stingray, fish and a whole host of other sea life. And at only an hours drive north from Brisbane, it is absolutely doable as a day trip. Especially as its right by the water so you can have a dip before or afterwards if you want to!

Some of the best attractions of the aquarium include:

  • The new little blue penguins
  • The seal show
  • Tidal touch pool where you can touch and get up close and personal with sea life
  • Ocean tunnel
  • Finding Dory and Friends experience, an interactive journey into the reef of Finding Nemo

  • As well as the huge array of sealife to see and learn about, the aquarium also has a fantastic multi storey playground called shipwreck shores. It is a great way to break up your day and my toddler absolutely loves it. There is a twisty slide, climbing frames and fun obstacles.

This school holidays, the aquarium has lots of activities happening for kids. Kids can sleep under the stars at the aquarium sleepover. Or be a marine biologist for a day (or half day) program. You can find out more about all the school holiday activities happening [Link https://www.sealifesunshinecoast.com.au/tickets/school-holiday-activities/ here].

If you want to save money too, book your ticket online before you go! You get 20% off by doing this. Or you could buy an annual pass for only $55 for a child and $80 for an adult and go back a few times throughout the year. To book online, see [Link https://www.sealifesunshinecoast.com.au/tickets/ here].

Food options are a bit limited at the aquarium, but if you have your snacks there, you can then hit the streets of Mooloolaba afterwards where you can find plenty of food options. Or have a beach picnic if you want to save money.

What other attractions do you know of that you can save money by buying online? Please let us know in the comments!
