Christmas is coming to Southbank Parklands in Brisbane, featuring family-friendly activities including films, elves, and art, to raise your spirits this holiday season.
1. Meet the Giant Elves
Get ready to bump into and make new friends with the
giant elves who will be roaming through the Parklands from 5 December 2025 to 5 January 2026. They have taken a break from the busy work of making toys and gifts at Santa's Workshop in the North Pole to come to Brisbane for a short time.
Here's where you can meet the 13 Elves at Southbank:

2. Make a Christmas Wreath
The Christmas Wreath is a true symbol of festive celebrations, representing eternity, hope, renewal, and the cycle of life. Now you can make your own at the Southbank Christmas Wreath Making Workshop with the Team from
Dead Puppet Society.
The workshops will be happening over 3 days from Friday, 5 December 2025, to Sunday, 7 December 2025, at the Flowstate Outdoor Pavilion.
Tickets are $90.00 and you can purchase them online through Eventbrite

3. Lost Worlds' Outdoor Cinema
The feel-good Christmas film, "Most Wonderful Time," will be screening from 15 to 23 December 2025 at Southbank's Lost Worlds Outdoor Cinema. This is a ticketed event with costs at:
$15 for 1
$20 for 2
$30 for 2 adults and up to 4 kids

4. Santa Photos
Capture a special memory this Christmas with a personalised photo with Santa at Riverside Green Pavilion. Santa will be visiting from 12 to 23 December from 9 am – 12 pm and 1 pm – 4 pm. The theme of this year’s Santa photos embraces the beauty of Brisbane. Local flora to bring a unique charm to your holiday pictures.
And to make sure that no one in the family misses out, Pet Photos with Santa are also back on select days and times, so be sure to book the correct session when reserving your spot. Pet photos are available on December 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 from 9:00 am to 9:30 am only.
Photo sessions are $30, are bookings will be available soon.
5 Storytime and Christmas Craft Activities
Mrs Claus will be sharing magical Christmas stories and leading Christmas-themed craft workshops at the Parklands during December. Create your own Christmas stockings, festive artworks and more to hang in your home or give as a gift to family and friends. The workshops run from 12 to 23 December from 10 am to 1 pm.
6. Collective Markets: Christmas Edition
See as Little Stanley Street is transformed into a fun-filled festive village lined with Christmas decorations and market stalls. Find that unique and special Christmas gift at the Collective Markets Christmas Edition from 12 to 23 December 2025. The markets will be open on Fridays from 5 pm to 9 pm, Saturdays from 10 am to 9 pm and Sundays from 9 am - 5 pm. The markets will feature one-of-a-kind handmade pieces such as jewellery and homewares.
With so much to do, your Christmas will be packed with joyous fun this holiday season at Southbank Parklands. The Parklands are a free public space which are located along the banks of the Brisbane River.
