Tucked away in Stafford, I Wet My Plants Garden and Gifts is part jungle, part gift shop and completely impossible to leave empty-handed.

This week I visited this quirky Brisbane retail favourite packed with leafy indoor plants, colourful pots, handmade goodies and fun treasures from local makers. Think fairy lights on the tin ceiling of the rustic warehouse vibes and greenery hanging from every corner — it’s basically a plant lover’s dream playground.

Stepping in off Wolverhampton Street in Stafford brings you to a no-fuss, simple and vintage-styled warehouse. But wait until you step inside. The front floor space has a collection of curated items where you can browse everything from terrariums and kokedamas to candles, jewellery and cute homewares, and unique gifts from local makers. Several styles of earrings caught my eye, from hand-crocheted pieces to sparkly resin ones. Items are reasonably priced. (Some of the earrings were only $5.00, and bracelets $8.00)

Stockists include:
- Lead on pet treats
- Abbellimenti

Whether you’re a serious plant parent or just there for the aesthetic, I Wet My Plants is one of those feel-good Brisbane spots that’s equal parts relaxing, inspiring and fun. As a collaboration between businesses, I Wet My Plants believes that " By uniting, we can extend our reach to a broader audience and create a more significant impact than if we were operating individually." A nice approach to uplifting each other's businesses.

But it’s not just about shopping — the store is also famous for its creative workshops where you can try your hand at terrariums, kokedama, painting, weaving and other crafty experiences. With fairy lights, cosy corners and a super welcoming vibe, it’s the kind of place where you wander in for “just a quick look” and end up staying for ages.

The shop opened in November 2025, relocating to the Wolverhampton Street Stafford store after its shop in Alderley was a victim (along with other small businesses in the complex) of an unexpected and devastating fire. While the Alderley space is still suffering the effects of the fire, I Wet My Plants courageously dusted itself off and continued its story in this new locale.

Locals may recall the space as once the Soul Pantry warehouse. One of the things that stands out as a visitor is how open the space feels. There's a lot of area, and the high ceilings of the shed create an open feel, so you don't feel cramped and confined. Quite the opposite.

The space has seating and an area where kids can have room to stretch out, as well as cosy seating corners to kick back and relax and share a conversation with friends or grab some quiet time by yourself. Either works.

To visit for yourself, you will find I Wet My Plants at Wolverhampton Street, Stafford. It can be found at the end of a street's cul-de-sac and overlooks the green space of Kedron Brook Park.

Free onsite visitor parking is available.
