Take a trip back to the middle ages with the

Calling all knights, ladies, jesters and royals, Australia's biggest medieval festival and tournament is back! In its 29th year, The [Link https://abbeymedievalfestival.com/ ] is a firm favourite in my family. Held at Caboolture, it is a fun and interactive day that the whole family will truly love.

Hosted by the The Abbey Museum of Art and Archaeology, it is a vital fundraiser, and brings stories to life and the excitement of this incredible era. It will engage and astound your little ones. The middle ages was a time of art, architecture, science, and the dawning of the era of exploration

The event includes re-enactors, musicians, craftsmen and street performers who bring to life what it was like to live in the drama of the middle ages in medieval Europe.

You can enjoy banquets, jousting knights on horses and medieval markets. Children can participate in archery, dancing, games, crafts and try on some fun period costumes.

Why not wear your own period costume? Visitors are strongly encouraged to get into the spirit of things by dressing up and trying out as many activities as they would like.

If you would like to know what is going on, this [LInk https://abbeymedievalfestival.com/abbey-festival-program-and-map/ program] will explain what is happening and when on the day. The four key tournaments are:

- The Joust
- The Archery Tournament
- The Tournament of Strength and Skill
- Turkish Oil Wrestling Tournament

You can also sample some delicious medieval food, think turkey legs and meade for the adults. You are also welcome to bring your own feast if you don't know if your children will be adventurous enough to try something truly out of the box.
