Check out the scooter track

After hearing on the Mum grapevine about how great the upgrade to [LInk https://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/things-to-see-and-do/council-venues-and-precincts/parks/parks-by-suburb/kedron-parks Bradbury Park] in Kedron was, I had to check it out for myself. With a gorgeous nature play space, a proper playground and a custom built scooter track, it was definetly worth all the hype.

Both my three year old and my one year old absolutely loved visiting this place. First of all the natural playground, called the Magic Forest of Bradbury Park, is far more captivating to little imaginations then a proper playground. It features golden animals you can find on rocks and other spaces, paths with rocks to jump across, kitchens made out of logs and forts built out of natural materials. It also had a huge sandpit which was a big hit.

My children LOVED playing here and it really brought out the best in their personalities. Their sense of wonderment and imagination was so lovely and I didn't have to worry about my one year old falling off any high spaces. There were so many hidden treasures to find in this place.

If you prefer a more traditional playground, there is a great one that is right by the Magic Forest. It has lots of nice new equipment and is shaded with a soft bottom. With swings, slides, forts and rockers, it has plenty of equipment to keep kids entertained.

After we spent time in Magic Forest and playground, it was time to check out the scooter track. This track was amazing! After a fairly disastrous experience at a BMX track where my three year old was mowed down by much larger children, to have somewhere age appropriate where he could ride his scooter was amazing.

Featuring a round track about 200m long, with stop signs, ramps and obstacles to ride over and through, he was here for hours riding around. It was also suitable for my one year old on his plastic trike to ride. The only downside is that there is no shade on the track, so on a hot day it would be very hot.

It is designed for smaller children, on scooters, trikes and bikes. You can sit in the middle on the large grassy space under a tree and just chill out while they ride around you and practise their skills. This was my favourite part!

If you are visiting Bradbury Park you can park in the small carpark on the corner of Batten Street and Allan Street. Or there is plenty of street parking. The scooter track and Magic Forest are about a five minute walk apart though, so if you are on your own with the kids, bring either a pram or something to carry the equipment in, or park closer to the place you think your kids would prefer. I learnt this lesson the hard way.

I would highly recommend a visit to this incredible play space. There are picnic tables, water fountains, a dog park, exercise equipment and lots of green space. I did not see any toilets though.

Location: 91 Kitchener Road, Kedron
Facilities: Scooter track, playground, nature play space, dog off leash area, picnic tables, exercise equipment, water fountains, parking both off street and on street.

Are there any other scooter tracks in Brisbane? Please let us know so we can check them out!
