Arguably Brisbane's most elegant shopping corridor, The Brisbane Arcade will be covered by luminous lights and a stunning Festive Display this Christmas season.

Christmas brings so many traditions like the sharing of messages and gifts, gathering to enjoy fabulous food with family and friends and of course the bright sparkles of decorations to light up everyone's life. Each Christmas, the Brisbane Arcade elevates its own special beauty and tradition with a FREE and spectacular display of lights and bespoke ornaments to welcome the festive celebrations.

The heritage-listed Edwardian baroque-styled Arcade, which turned 100 years young this year, brings a special sparkle with custom baubles, sparkling light-filled trees, and gorgeous garlands for shoppers and visitors to enjoy.

The sophisticated display in the always stylish and glamorous Arcade is a Christmas tradition that features a collection of stand-alone installations, glorious garlands hanging from the second floor, circular wreaths and glittering fairy lights that fill the Arcade with a glorious display of colour and beauty.

As you enter the Arcade from either the Adelaide Street or Queen Street entrances, you are immediately met by a remarkable selection of gold Christmas decorations which is a feature colour of the design. This year's Show is particularly important as it coincides with the Arcade's Centenary 100-year Anniversary. To give you an idea of just how extensive the display is, here are some of the details.

The display includes:

More than 100 metres of sparkling gold LED lights

Approximately Around 12,000 individually attached baubles;

More than 70 luxe bows;

Over 40 elaborate wreaths of various sizes;

A collection of lush green garlands ;

Christmas trees throughout the Arcade brimming with baubles and handcrafted acrylic ornaments representing the Arcade's unique retailers with miniature sunglasses, bags, dresses, rings, hats, cups and saucers, and clocks; and

500 metres of custom monogrammed “Brisbane Arcade ribbon.

One of the stars of the display is Rosie the resident Reindeer who, since 2022 has been decorated with bejewelled grandeur and this year is no exception. In 2024, Rosie can be found in the middle of the Arcade. Her coat is covered in over 2000 dazzling gold and silver mini baubles and draped in gold and silver pearls.

The Centenary Christmas Collection has been created by Vivian Clinton-Jones from VIVIdd.

One of the best ways to see the installation is from on high so perhaps take the stairs to the balcony level for a complete view above the exclusive, narrow shopping corridor. The opulent Room With Roses Cafe cafe also offers a splendid view of the lights which you can watch while stopping for their High Tea or other sweet and savoury treat.

If you are new to the Arcade, window shopping is also a must with its collection of exclusive and long-term high-end retailers including jewellers Stones Diamonds, fashion designers Julie Tengdahl, DARB Bridal Couture, and specialty shops like The Tea Centre and more.

The Brisbane Arcade Christmas display is free for visitors and customers and is a must to add to your festive event list. Stopping for photos and the odd Insta pic is easy and a way to keep a special memory. The Brisbane Arcades' display will be running until 28 December 2024. The Arcade is open 7 days from 9am.
