Colour My Pot

by Sally Foster (follow)
Take home a masterpiece created by you

Colour My Pot is a family owned and operated business where both adults and kids can go to paint their own pottery. It is a wonderful chance to express your creativity and a great rainy day alternative or school holiday activity.

You can just drop into Colour My Pot or you can book ahead as it can get quite busy during peak times. There is a wide range of ceramics to choose from including money banks, trinket boxes and cute figurines like monkeys, dolphins, flowers, skateboard, skulls or zombies. Or for the adults you can paint plates, cups and vases.

With newly renovated indoor and outdoor environments, Guardian Early Learning Taringa invites you to come and tour their new centre, located at 32 Morrow Street, Taringa, Qld, 4068.

After you choose your ceramic, you can sit down and relax into the painting, which can be either fun or relaxing depending on the company. Once you are done, the staff will glaze and fire your pot and it will be ready for collection the following week.

It is a fairly cheap activity with a $9 glazing and firing fee per painter per day applies plus the cost of the ceramic item or items you choose. Approximate costs on their website are:

- Smaller ceramic items start from $6
- Medium sized ceramic items start from $15
- Larger sized ceramic items start from $30.

As well as the option of dropping in, you can also book into a kids birthday party, an adults only evening class with your girlfriends or come along with your family to make hand and foot keepsakes you can keep or give as gifts. Colour my Pot also runs school holiday workshops and classes. For more information on these activities, see here

A few helpful hints to make your day smoother is to make sure your kids wear old clothes or bring along an apron. It can get a little messy! Everything else is provided by the studio. Also kids under 13 must be accompanied by an adult and kids under 6 are most welcome to join in, but best to book a seat next to them to help out.
