Cooly Rocks On is one of Queensland's biggest and most vibrant retro nostalgia festivals, held each year at Coolangatta on the southern Gold Coast. The five-day event transforms the beachfront into a lively celebration of 1950s, 60s and 70s culture, filled with rock'n'roll music, vintage fashion, Elvis tribute performances and hundreds of gleaming classic cars cruising and lining the seaside streets. It's a nostalgic step back in time where music, style and community spirit come together in true rockabilly fashion.

For more than a decade, Cooly Rocks On has celebrated community and timeless good times — proving that the golden era of rock’n’roll never goes out of style.



Experience the energy and nostalgia of Cooly Rocks On 2026, where the streets of Coolangatta come alive with a spectacular Classic Car Show and Cruise, showcasing hundreds of beautifully restored vintage vehicles alongside daily displays and cruising events.

Enjoy live rock’n’roll music across multiple outdoor stages featuring rockabilly, swing, surf rock and crowd-favourite tribute performances, before dancing the night away at the vibrant Retro Street Party filled with Elvis tribute artists, vintage performers and a lively after-dark atmosphere.

Entry to Cooly Rocks On is completely free, making it one of the most accessible and welcoming festivals on the Gold Coast. Visitors can wander the vibrant streets of Coolangatta, soaking up live rock’n’roll music, admiring stunning classic cars, exploring vintage markets and enjoying the lively retro atmosphere without purchasing a ticket. The event takes place throughout the Coolangatta beachfront precinct, with activities, stages, classic cars and markets spread along Marine Parade and surrounding streets near the beach.
