Footloose the musical is rolling into Brisbane after packing out Melbourne, with a shiny new production based on that classic 80s film. Picture this: a city kid named Ren lands in a small town thats gone full puritan and banned dancing altogether, then proceeds to stir up the locals with his big city moves. Youll hear those earworm hits like Holding Out for a Hero, Almost Paradise, Lets Hear It for the Boy, and the foot-stomping Footloose itself, all backed by sharp choreography and a cast of Aussie performers who know how to have a laugh.

Its on at the Royal International Convention Centre in Bowen Hills, Queensland, on Saturday 25 April 2026 at 2pm. A quick drive from Brisbane central if youre keen to see if Ren can loosen up the town without anyone calling the fun police. Limited season, so its not hanging around forever.
