Free or Cheap Animal Encounters in Brisbane

by Sally Foster (follow)
Animal encounters in and around Brisbane that won't break the bank

Hands up who's kid loves animals? I can safely assume that every single person reading this raised their hands. Kids love animals and the joy of seeing their little faces light up when they hold a bunny or pat a sheep is incredible.

There are lots of places to see animals around Brisbane. We have an article here dedicated to some awesome places you can go with your family that are purely animal experiences.

You and your family are invited to a Photography for Parents Workshop on Sunday 28th April at New Farm Park.
If you need some time out from the kids over the weekend, want to enjoy a bit of adult conversation and a relaxed tour of the city, Brisbane Food Safari Club has a new experience starting in July.
But if you are just looking for a short animal encounter that is free or cheap and doesn't require a dedicated day trip, then give one of these a go:

1. Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre

Encounter wombats, platypus rockpools and learn about native wildlife in an educational setting.

Any Cost? There is a fee for this one but it is minimal. Children 4-17 years is $3.70 and adults are $7.70
