Grace Lutheran College and Grace Arts Academy are staging Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at Redcliffe Entertainment Centre on Downs Street in Redcliffe, Queensland, from May 7 to 9, 2026. Its a casual nod to Roald Dahls classic tale, with tunes borrowed from the 1971 film like Candy Man, Ive Got a Golden Ticket, the Oompa Loompa ditty, and Pure Imagination, all mixed into an original score.

Willy Wonka cracks open his factory doors to five golden ticket kids, led by down-on-his-luck Charlie Bucket, for a tour thats equal parts wonder and weirdness: think chocolate waterfalls thatll make your dentist wince, squirrels nuttier than a family reunion, and a glass elevator that defies gravity. The Oompa Loompas handle the moral lessons with their signature songs, so its family fun with a side of satire.
