Food, family and community will be on the menu this Australia Day at the Great Australian Bites across Queensland.



Great Australian Bites will toast Australia and Queensland's rich community of cultures through food, activities, diversity and inclusion on 26 January 2026.

With free entry, delicious food prepared by local restaurants and popular food vendors, and live entertainment from home-grown musicians, Great Australian Bites is the perfect way to relax and enjoy the Australian summer atmosphere with family, friends and community.



Embark on a flavour-filled and fun day out at Great Australian Bites, to be held in:
Aurukun
Brisbane
Cairns
Cloncurry

In Brisbane, top up your culinary skills at Southbank Parklands with food demonstrations from television personality and celebrity chefs Miguel Maestro , Peter Kurivita , Tessa Boersma from Masterchef), and Jake Nicholson . Local restaurants, Good Grace , Brisbane fired pizza, El Corazan, Blackbird Bar and Restaurant and Iced Tea Co.



Join MC and swimming great, Brooke Hansen (OAM). The kids can also join in the fun with face painting, silent disco, live music, games and crafts.

Celebrate Australia Day with a plate in your hand. The events kick off at 2 pm and will run through until 7:30 pm.

Australia Day activities in Queensland are proudly supported by the Queensland Government and assisted by the Australian Government through the National Australia Day Council.
