What started as a candlelight march in support of refugees and asylum seekers in 2007 has grown to become Queensland's largest welcoming event at South Bank.

Mark your calendar for Friday, 1st of August and kick off Multicultural Queensland Month with a burst of colour, culture, sounds and celebration at LUMINOUS Festival 2025. This year's parade promises to be an unforgettable spectacle of Queensland’s vibrant diversity.



This iconic event is a joyful celebration of Queensland's rich cultural diversity and a heartfelt welcome to the newest Queenslanders.

The evening will be highlighted by the LUMINOUS Lantern Parade procession at dusk, followed by a high-energy music performance to close out the festivities.

LUMINOUS Festival is delivered by Multicultural Australia, Queensland’s leading settlement provider, with support from strategic partners - Brisbane City Council, Suncorp Group, and the Queensland Government.
